Bulldogs at 126: Tanner Sheppard
With their first pick in the seventh round, the Hamilton Bulldogs select goalie Tanner Sheppard from the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs. Bulldogs take their first goalie of the day, a large modern frame.
Braden Ross, The Scout.ca“Sheppard is a well-sized goaltender who plays a calm and composed game between the pipes. Standing at 6’3 and weighing over 200lbs, Sheppard is one of the bigger goaltenders in the province and covers a great deal of the net which works well with his blocking butterfly style. He’s already played in several big games during his OHL draft season and backstopped his hard-working physical Bulldogs team to the Wendy Dufton Tournament Championship in London. His large frame swallows up pucks producing very few second chance rebounds Possesses decent athleticism, reacting quickly to shots. Gets his big body squared to any shot and then acts as a pillow by softly taking the puck in his chest and controlling it with ease. Operates with a relaxed demeanor allowing the game to come to him rather than overcomplicating saves“. (Source)
