The Hamilton Bulldogs Acquire Garagan
The Hamilton Bulldogs have acquired forward Ben Garagan from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for a fifth round pick. Garagan originally hails from North Bay’s minor hockey system.
@Andy417 Good two way player with some serious creativity but his biggest asset is just flat out speed.

Likely could benefit from a fresh start. He carried his team’s offense in minor midget. Good worker with smarts. https://t.co/dROGQPmktA

Garagan’s a Speedy, undersized playmaker with soft hands and good vision, Slick one on one skills. Rated 105th buy us.

Garagan was a 5th round pick by the Sudbury Wolves in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection. He was a standout during the Wolves 2015 pre-season, earning a roster spot last season as a surprise 16 year old given his draft status.
Brock Otten – OHL Prospects: “Garagan has been the surprise of camp for the Sudbury Wolves thus far. A 5th round pick in this year’s draft, Garagan beat out higher selections to earn a roster spot. Part of the reason for that was his great production in the preseason with 4 goals. We’ll see if he can keep it up all year, but so far he’s looking like a steal for a team that seems to be rebuilding the right way” (Sept. 2015, Source)
It’s tough to say where the coaching staff will use Garagan in the lineup. He has a year and a half of OHL experience, and apparently plenty of speed. Good chance he’ll start in the bottom 6, and his abilities on the penalty kill will likely be tested in the next two weeks. Hopefully he’ll be able to rekindle his offensive touch from his minor hockey days.
